Happy Thursday Members!
Keg-Side Chat #5 is here so let's get to it.
The Special Ruling After reviewing the proposed legislation, we are now going through and creating priorities for what we really hope to see. These priorities are based on the Special Ruling survey that members completed and reflect the items that membership agreed should be top, medium, or low priorities. We are continuing to work with our advocacy team and our legislative allies to put together the best language possible for the industry. There will also be a meeting next week with Board members and industry stakeholders on the best ways we can work together on this issue and beyond.
Also please be on the lookout for additional information on opportunities for members to support our efforts. It should be hitting your inboxes in the very near future.
If you are willing to host a meeting with your local and/or state elected officials, please let us know and we'll work with you to coordinate so we have the right folks available.
Website Update As mentioned during the last membership meeting, we will be looking to gather some information about members for our website. I will get that out to you soon so please be on the lookout for that as well.
Who Am I, Part 5 "Nick, what are you reading?" I'm glad you asked. I just finished Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie for my virtual book club and plan to reread The Brief History of the Dead by Kevin Brockmeier soon.
My Latest Brewery Visit While I didn't make it out to any breweries proper, I did enjoy stopping by and seeing folks at the Summer Swelter festival last Saturday. Lots of positive feedback about member products from the crowd of course!
The Next NJBA Meeting IS: Monday, October 10 at 3pm at Dr Brewlittle's. Thank you to those who volunteered to host the December meeting. We will be in touch as plans come together. We are still looking for anyone interested in hosting membership meetings throughout 2023. Membership meetings are generally the second Monday of even numbered months (February, April, June, August, October, December). Please let me know if you are interested.
This Weekend's Member Activities (If I missed an event your brewery is holding or participating in this weekend, I apologize. Please send your event information to director@njbeer.org.)Montclair Brewery will host live music by Quiz Show on Friday, August 19 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Dr. Brewlittle's will host live music by Sam Long on Friday, August 19 from 6pm to 9pm.
